The World’s Largest Amateur Space Rocket is pretty cool, but it’s the submarine that’s freaking me out. Who has a submarine at their disposal to push their giant rocket out to sea? These guys are living their comic book fueled dreams! I’m hoping they don’t have plans for taking over The World.
I’M ON TO YOU PEOPLE!
Thought-Provoking Picture of the Day: Earth and its moon, as photographed by the MESSENGER spacecraft from 114 million miles away.
[V]iewing our planet from far away was not the main reason that the mission team planned the collection of this image. Instead, this image was acquired as part of MESSENGER’s campaign to search for vulcanoids, small rocky objects that have been postulated to exist in orbits between Mercury and the Sun.

It’s Emily’s First Day of Kindergarten today.
Totally Awesome Space Colonies - I remember being fascinated by these images when I was a kid.
Today was “Meet The Teacher Day” for Emily. Kindergarten starts on Monday. She’s excited.
Elements 1.0 is a great app idea tainted with dated artwork. I almost bought this app, but the looks of it turned me away. (that and I can’t say I have a use case in mind for it) Design matters, the blue-green marble texture is not a terribly attractive way to differentiate your app. Plus utilities like this should look like utilities. What’s wrong with the standard UI kit components. And while I’m handing out advice they might consider showing a 2 panel view with the file viewer on the left when in landscape mode. Editing super wide plain text is a drag to look at and read. Other than that it’s dang cool, and i’ll be keeping my eye on apps like this. (via: Daring Fireball)
